Abstract
Abstract This study unearthed the experiences, coping mechanisms used, and lessons learned from the elementary school teachers on school-based support systems regarding mental wellness. Qualitative approach to research on the phenomenological experiences of nine (9) teachers of Sarangani District, Division of Davao Occidental were gathered. Experiences of elementary school teachers on school-based support systems regarding mental wellness were as follows: first responded to learnersmental health issues, collaborated with mental health professionals, and managed stigma and cultural sensitivity. On the other hand, the coping mechanisms about the challenges on school-based support systems regarding mental wellness were as follows: reducing stigma through education and awareness campaigns, fostering collaboration and partnership, and prioritizing high quality training on mental. Finally, the lessons learned from the experiences of elementary school teachers were: the importance of building strong teacher-learner relationships, the necessity of ongoing professional development and support and finally, early identification of mental health issue is vital. The findings underscored the importance of reducing stigma, fostering strong relationships, and ensuring ongoing professional development to effectively address mental health issues within the school environment.
