Abstract
The Indian tourism industry is one of the largest service sectors contributing significantly to employment and GDP. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 severely disrupted tourism across the globe, with India being no exception. The imposition of nationwide lockdowns, travel restrictions, and health-related uncertainties brought tourism to a standstill. This study analyzes both the short-term disruption and long-term shifts caused by the pandemic in Indias tourism sector. It also explores recovery strategies and sectoral transformations triggered by the crisis.
