Abstract
Abstract This study unearthed the experiences, coping mechanisms used, and lessons learned from the struggles of learners who lack parental involvement in school activities. A qualitative approach to researching the phenomenological experiences of nine (9) learners from Buhangin District, Division of Davao City was used. The experiences of learners who lack parental involvement in school activities were as follows: disengaged academically, struggled socially and emotionally, and lacked structure and support. The coping mechanisms for the struggles they encountered for the lack of parental involvement in school activities were as follows: self-reliance, building supportive networks, and seeking guidance from teachers. Finally, the lessons learned from the experiences of learners were as follows: self-motivation, time management, and, finally, resilience. This study highlighted the significant impact of parental involvement on learnersacademic and emotional well-being. The findings reveal that despite facing challenges such as disengagement and lack of support, students develop coping strategies that foster self-reliance and resilience. Ultimately, these insights underscore the importance of promoting supportive networks and encouraging self-motivation among learners to enhance their educational experiences.
