Abstract
This study investigates the financial impact of mergers and acquisitions in the industrial sector, with a focus on the strategic merger between Vodafone India and Idea Cellular. The research analyzes pre- and post-merger financial data to assess changes in revenue, profitability, debt structure, and market share. It explores the strategic objectives behind the merger, including synergy creation, cost reduction, and competitive positioning. Despite initial expectations, the merger faced challenges such as high debt, subscriber loss, and intense competition. The study provides valuable insights into the complexities of M&A in the telecom industry and the factors influencing their financial successorfailure.
