It is commonly recognized that plants have the ability to naturally synthesize antioxidant molecules that may be able to regulate the oxidative stress brought on by oxygen and sunlight. Numerous commercial cosmetic items and patents contain different mixes of plant extracts. Various mixtures of several plant extracts, such as green tea, rosemary, grape seed, basil grape, blueberry, tomato, acerola seed, pine bark, and milk thistle, are typically found in cosmetic compositions. Natural antioxidants such as polyphenols, flavonoids, flavanols, stilbens, and terpenes (including carotenoids and essential oils) are present in these plant extracts. Pure natural ingredients like resveratrol, kojic acid, and quercetin are included in the composition of several commercial products. The key components for creating a successful product are selecting the appropriate active plant extracts or chemicals, verifying their efficacy, and ensuring their stability and synergistic effects in cosmetics.
