Abstract
AbstractSolar Water Heaters (SWHs) have emerged as a sustainable solution to meet domestic and industrial hot water demands. This paper delves into the principles, types, applications, and technological advancements in SWHs, with a focus on their relevance in the Indian context. It also discusses the integration of nanotechnology, machine learning, and hybrid systems to enhance performance. The paper concludes by evaluating the economic, environmental, and policy aspects influencing the adoption of SWHs.________________________________________1. IntroductionThe increasing global demand for energy, coupled with environmental concerns, has necessitated the exploration of alternative energy sources. Solar energy, being abundant and renewable, offers a viable solution. Among various applications, Solar Water Heaters (SWHs) stand out due to their efficiency in harnessing solar energy for heating purposes. In India, cities like Bengaluru and Pune have pioneered the integration of SWHs in urban infrastructure, setting benchmarks for other regions.
