Abstract
The last few decades have seen severalsignificant advances in modellingtechniques, such as the Coupled ModelIntercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6),Earth System Models (ESMs), and thecombination of machine learning Climatemodelling is at the heart of contemporaryclimate science, enabling a prediction of theeffects of global warming and guidingdecisions in mitigation and adaptationefforts. These models simulate complexinteractions between atmospheric, oceanic, and terrestrial processes. They have mademajor advances in understanding andforecasting future climate patterns undervarying emission scenarios for greenhousegases. This review synthesizes the currentstate of climate change modelling: one thatwas covered in aspects such as theevolution of climate models, advances intechniques and technologies used, challenges encountered, and diverseapplications for policy-making, disasterpreparedness, and the achievement ofsustainable resource management. Ofcourse, there are some limitations: those indata, computational power, and climateprediction uncertainties, among others.Still, climate models are importantcomponents of our vision toward futureclimate change impacts and policydecisions to mitigate and adapt to climatechange
