Abstract
The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has raised complex questions about copyright protection for AI-generated works in India. This paper examines the current state of copyright law in India and its applicability to AI-generated works. We analyze the challenges and opportunities presented by AI-generated content, focusing on the core legal concepts of authorship, ownership, and originality. Furthermore, we provide a detailed analysis of the Raghav AI Artwork Case, which serves as a critical touchstone for the legal ambiguity in the Indian context. Finally, we propose recommendations for legislative and judicial reform to ensure that India's intellectual property framework remains robust, promotes innovation, and protects creatorsrights in the age of generative AI.
