Abstract

Abstract:- An upward trend in cloud computing has witnessed a rise in Distributed Denial of Service attacks. It is known to cause significant disturbances in services andapplications of the cloud-based form, and hence, it is very much essential that organizations implement apt safeguardsfor these threats. This paper will thoroughly examine DDoS mitigation systems and methodologies applied to cloudenvironments, keeping focus on the framework, tools, and bestpractices for strong defense. Here we are going to talk aboutthe kinds of cloud-based DDoS protection solutions offered byleading cloud service providers, including Cloudflare, AWSShield, and Akamai Kona Site Defender along with real-time monitoring activities and response with post incident review. The manuscript further details methodologies on how best toerect a holistic DDoS protection strategy, including regularrevisions, assessments, and workforce training. After reviewingan analysis of various case studies, we analyze the effectiveness of several tools and techniques employed in the domain ofDDoS protection. Conclusively, we discuss cutting-edge trends and technological novelties in DDoS protection, mainlyfocusing on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning and hypothesize their future impact on the migration of cloud security. This work seeks to become a useful resource for organizations looking to protect their cloud-basedassets from the increasingly robust threat of DDoS attacks. Inthis regard, this paper's findings place on record that proactive protection against DDoS should involve efforts towards the use of leading edge technologies, such as AI and ML, in an effort atbetter threat detection, and a more fitting responses to suchevents. With these technologies, one can better predict andprevent the attack from happening or worsening.
