Abstract
In this project we are going to change the material of disc rotor to increase the performance of disc rotor. Because the exist material is having some drawbacks like weight, braking performance, generation of heat and cost of the product. So we want to decrease the weight, cost reduction and improve the braking performance. The material we used for new disc rotor is ALUMINIUM (87.4%) and SILICON CARBIDE (12.6%). We had done 3D modelling in SOLID WORKS and we analyzed the properties in ANSYS.In this project we have found out that the heat that is emitted is exited through the vents that are present in the disc rotor of the brake system. The disc rotor is sandwiched between the two brake pads that are activated by the cylinders that are backed by the calipers that mounted on the stud shaft present in the vehicle.
