Abstract
This research explores the primary factors that drive social entrepreneurial intentions among university students in the Delhi NCR region. In recent years, social entrepreneurship has emerged as a powerful approach to address societal challenges by combining business strategies with social value creation. The study aims to understand how personal traits such as empathy, moral values, and confidence in ones ability to create change (self-efficacy) interact with external influences like institutional support, peer networks, and socioeconomic conditions to shape studentswillingness to launch social ventures. Anchored in established frameworks such as the Theory of Planned Behaviour and Social Cognitive Theory, the research uses a structured questionnaire to gather insights from a diverse student population. The analysis reveals that students who are exposed to real-world social problems and who receive institutional encouragementsuch as entrepreneurship education, mentorship, and access to incubationare more likely to pursue socially impactful careers. Furthermore, contextual factors like social awareness and perceived support systems play a crucial role in reinforcing their intentions. This paper provides actionable recommendations for academic institutions and policymakers to strengthen support mechanisms, enhance practical learning, and promote a culture of innovation and social responsibility among the youth.
