Abstract
This project focuses on the development of a cutaway working model of a 5-speed synchromesh manual transmission. The purpose is to investigation a visual and interactive demonstration of the inner mechanics of a modern manual transmission system, specifically highlighting the functionality of the synchromesh mechanism. Synchromesh technology plays a critical role in modern manual gearboxes, enabling smooth gear shifts by synchronizing the rotational speeds of gears before engagement, thus preventing gear clash and enhancing driving comfort. By creating a physical cutaway model, this project aims to offer both an educational and practical tool for understanding the inner workings of a 5-speed transmission system.
