Abstract
The issues and challenges in management has been implementing effective human development strategies to enhance employee performance and accountability. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of human resource policies on employee performance in FIRS, Abuja. The target population of the study is 8,341. The study sample size is 370 using Krejcie and Morgan (1970) table. Hence, 370 copies of the questionnaire were administered and only 269 were duly returned. The descriptive, correlation and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) analysis were used to analyse the returned data with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software 22.0. Hence, the finding shows that there is a significant influence of job training on employee performance in FIRS, Abuja. Another result shows that there is a significant influence of job description on employee performance in FIRS, Abuja. Again, the third result shows that there is a significant influence of job description on employee performance in FIRS, Abuja. While the fourth result reveals that there is significant influence of job enrichment on employee performance in FIRS, Abuja. The study recommended that job training, job description, job specification, and job enrichment should be given all necessary resourced required for them to be able to give financial advice and assistance to prospective implementation.Keywords: Human Resource Policies, Job Description, Job Training, Job Specification, Job Enrichment, Employee Performance
