Abstract
This study investigates the family budgeting practices in the rural community of Barangay Baculin, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It focuses on the strategies used by selected households to manage their finances and allocate expenses effectively in the face of persistent financial scarcity. It aims to understand how families manage limited financial resources to meet basic needs, personal expenses, academic-related costs, and family support. The research also examines family demographic profiles and how these influence financial decisions. Data was collected through interviews focusing on identifying essential expenses, planning savings, setting aside emergency funds, and using budgeting tools. The study evaluates the effectiveness of these strategies in managing household expenses and improving financial stability. Findings aim to offer practical insights for families, financial advisors, policymakers, and community workers to enhance financial literacy, reduce financial stress, and promote long-term economic well-being within the community
