Abstract
Feminism and Patriarchy are two related concepts, which are often discussed and taught together when we talk about gender roles and gender inequality and the structure of society. After so many revolutions still in many parts of India patriarchy is in the culture which is basically known as men domination . Theories of feminism and patriarchy are interconnected; the concept of patriarchy has been central to many feminist theories . Feminism is egalitarian , Patriarchy is elitist . Modern civilization results in the joint action of men and women. Feminism is a movement for everyones social , political, and economic equality of all genders whereas, patriarchy is a social system where men hold primary power and dominance . Feminism is brought up by four waves which focus on analyzing gender inequality MARY WOLKSTONECRAFT is founder of word Feminism in her book in 1792. Savitribai Phule started feminism in India , who started the first school. Patriarchal theory's chief supporter was Sir Henry Maine . Women are a fundamental unit of society .
