Abstract
Hand gesture recognition has emerged as a pivotal technology for natural humancomputer interaction (HCI), offering potential applications in robotics, sign language translation, gaming, and healthcare. This paper presents the design, development, and evaluation of a hand gesture recognition system implemented in Python using the OpenCV library. Building on recent advances in computer vision techniques and HCI management in challenging environments, we propose an integrated framework that leverages skin color segmentation, morphological filtering, feature extraction, and machine learning classification.
