Abstract
This report presents my internship experience in the Income Tax Department of a professional tax consultancy firm. The primary focus was on the practical aspects of Income Tax Return (ITR) filing, especially handling various heads of income including salary, house property, capital gains, businessprofession, and other sources. The internship provided exposure to the classification, documentation, and compliance involved in the tax filing process, including the use of AISTIS data and reconciliation of taxpayer records. The report outlines departmental functioning, assigned responsibilities, reallife scenarios, and key takeaways, offering a comprehensive understanding of taxation in realworld practice
