Abstract
The increasing digitization across various sectors has presented a significant opportunity to integrate the unorganized sector into mainstream economic activities. This study explores the potential benefits, challenges, and strategies for empowering unorganized sector participants through digital platforms. Digitization facilitates access to broader markets, financial services, and government schemes, thereby enhancing their productivity and income levels. The unorganized sector, comprising small-scale artisans, vendors, and service providers, often faces barriers such as limited technological awareness, inadequate infrastructure, and financial constraints. Addressing these issues requires targeted interventions, including digital literacy programs, affordable technology solutions, and supportive policy frameworks. The integration of the unorganized sector into the digital economy can lead to inclusive growth, reduce poverty, and foster sustainable development. Furthermore, digital tools enable transparent transactions, real-time data collection, and efficient supply chain management, which can significantly improve operational efficiency. However, challenges such as digital divide, cybersecurity concerns, and resistance to change must be carefully managed. This paper underscores the importance of collaborative efforts among government agencies, private sector players, and civil society to create an enabling environment for digitization. Ultimately, a strategic approach to digital inclusion can transform the unorganized sector, making it a vital contributor to national economic growth and social development.
