Abstract
The increasing need for continuous electrical power in recent years has made power transmission systemsdependability and efficiency even more crucial. Conventional techniques for gearbox line fault detection are frequently labour-intensive, manual, and prone to delays, which can result in prolonged outages and equipment damage. This project suggests an Internet of Things (IoT)-based transmission line fault detection system that allows for remote alerts, quick fault identification, and real-time monitoring in order to overcome these constraints. The system continuously monitors electrical parameters by using voltage and current sensors placed along gearbox lines. These sensors are linked to an Internet of Things microcontroller (such as the NodeMCU or ESP32), which interprets the data and sends it via Wi-Fi or GSM to a cloud platform or mobile application.
