Abstract
In the current fast-paced environment, digital transformation (DT) has emerged as one of the most important strategic imperatives of organizations. Business firms are increasingly being pressured to utilize digital technologies to enhance the customer experience, streamline operations, and establish sustainable competitive advantages. The challenges of alignment, change management, leadership, and governance often lead to the failure of digital transformation projects to achieve their goals, despite their importance. The research paper discusses digital transformation project management based on efficiency, adaptability and sustainability. The study collects the findings of both academic and practitioner views to portray the multidimensional nature of the digital transformation beyond the adoption of technology, through a comprehensive literature review. This research aims to define the primary success factors of digital transformation projects, assess project management practices in the digital setting, assess the role of leadership and culture and offer practical models of successful execution. Results show that efficiency in DT projects is not only based on agile and hybrid management models but on vision, effective communication, and alignment of stakeholders. It is concluded in the paper that organizations should strike a balance between technology and human-focused approaches and create resilience and flexibility in the project management architecture.
