Abstract
This report provides an overview of my internship experience in the Human Resources (HR) department at MK Engineering, focusing specifically on recruitment. The internship allowed me to gain exposure to the entire recruitment processfrom workforce planning and job design to sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. I learned about both traditional and modern recruitment methods, including applicant tracking systems, Boolean search techniques, and employer branding on digital platforms.During this internship, I gained practical experience in talent acquisition while also understanding how recruitment supports key HR goals like diversity, retention, and workforce integration. This report discusses various recruitment types and channels, key metrics for measuring recruitment success, and real challenges such as high application volumes, candidate dropouts, and inconsistent feedback. I successfully implemented practical solutions like automation, structured follow-ups, and meetings to align job descriptions.Along with technical skills, the internship helped me develop soft skills such as communication, time management, adaptability, and coordination with stakeholders. This experience highlighted the importance of recruitment as a dynamic, analytical, and people-focused function within HR. The report concludes with recommendations for improving recruitment using AI tools, better onboarding processes, feedback systems, and stronger employer branding strategies to enhance efficiency and candidate experience.
