Abstract
In todays rapidly evolving logistics landscape, efficient transportation strategies are critical for maintaining competitive advantage. This research focuses on the role of Full Truck Load (FTL) optimization in enhancing placement operations at Delhivery, one of Indias largest logistics providers. The project explores how dedicated truck usage contributes to faster deliveries, better fleet utilization, and cost control.Indias logistics sector has undergone significant transformation in the past decade, driven by digitalization, growing consumer expectations, and the rise of e-commerce. Among the strategic approaches adopted by top logistics companies is FTL optimization, which involves using entire trucks for transporting goods directly between hubs or destinations. This thesis examines how Delhivery leverages FTL to improve operational efficiency.The research aims to understand Delhiverys operational strategies behind FTL deployment and evaluate its impact on logistics KPIs like delivery time, cost efficiency, truck utilization, and customer satisfaction. Optimizing placement operationsallocating trucks based on demand and routesis essential for reducing idle time, minimizing delays, and maximizing resource productivity.
