Abstract
Open Ground Storey (OGS) buildings are increasingly used in urban environments for parking purposes, but pose critical seismic vulnerability due to the abrupt reduction of stiffness at the base level. This paper presents a performance-based study of a G+4 RC building modeled and analyzed using ETABS v17. The building is subjected to various loading conditions including seismic (Zone IV), wind (as per IS 875), and combined loading. The study evaluates structural responses including storey drift, displacement, base shear, and PMM ratios. A comparison is made between bare frame, fully infilled frame, and OGS frame configurations. The findings support the need for accurate modeling of infill walls and suggest that the default multiplication factor of 2.5 may not suffice for all design scenarios.
