Abstract
Watermarking is a popular method for preventing unauthorized copying of multimedia files. Watermarking is defined as the process of embedding or disguising some type of multi-media data in another type of multi-media data. Our study compares and contrasts several watermarking processes. The watermarking schemes covered include DCT, DWT, and SVD. The spatial localization, frequency spread spectrum and multi-resolution features of DWT are excellent. DCT provides compression and desired features in combination with SVD, resulting in good watermarking. Various strategies are contrasted and assessed in terms of their advantages and disadvantages
