Abstract
This study aims to document the ethnomedicinal knowledge of tribal communities in the Sarni region of Betul district, Madhya Pradesh, with a focus on preserving traditional medicinal practices and preventing biopiracy. Through systematic field surveys and active community engagement, indigenous plant-based therapies were recorded, categorized, and subjected to initial validation. The research underscores the need for comprehensive record-keeping and the implementation of legal safeguards to protect tribal intellectual property rights. It advocates for the sustainable utilization of local biodiversity and emphasizes the importance of equitable benefit-sharing mechanisms.
