Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examined how elementary school teachers at Piape Elementary School and four (4) other schools at Padada, Davao del Sur felt about their work lives and jobs. A descriptive correlation method of 60 respondents was used to measure the quality of work life of four (4) other schools regarding working conditions for human capacity development, social integration, future chance growth, job security, and work and room for recreation. Job satisfaction was examined regarding job stability, work setting, tasks, connections to the community, and pay and benefits. The results showed that the respondents had a high quality of work life, with strong agreement on the different measures of quality of work life. High marks were also given for job happiness, with respondents saying they had a good idea of what it meant to be very happy with their work. The quality of work life and job satisfaction were found to have a significant, relatively positive relationship. This means that job happiness increases as the quality of work life increases. The results of this study help school officials, teachers, students, and parents understand the link between job happiness and the quality of life at work. This information can make teachers happier, help them make better decisions, and help students choose jobs that will make them happy. To confirm the results, doing more studies with bigger group sizes would be good. Keywords: Quality of work life, job satisfaction, senior high school teachers, descriptive correlation approach
