Abstract
ABSTRACT: This paper presents the design and development of Scheme GENIE, a web-based platform designed to simplify how citizens discover and apply for government welfare schemes. Currently, many eligible citizens miss out on benefits simply because they are unaware of them or find the application process too complicated. Our system allows users to upload basic documents (like an Income Certificate or Aadhar card), uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read the details, and automatically matches them with schemes they are eligible for. The platform is built using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) to ensure it is fast, responsive, and easy to use. The goal of this project is to create a transparent, "citizen-first" tool that bridges the gap between government policies and the people who need them most.
