Abstract
AbstractThe study explored the relationship between management competence of school heads and organizational effectiveness of public elementary schools in Davao del Norte Division. Also, it investigated the association of the involved variables and the domains of management competence of school heads that significantly influence organizational effectiveness. With the use of probability sampling, 180 public elementary teachers were selected as the respondents. Utilizing the descriptive-correlational survey method, the data collated were analyzed through the use of Mean, Product-Moment correlation and Regression Analysis. Results revealed that there was a high management competence among school heads and a high organizational effectiveness. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between management competence and organizational effectiveness which led to the rejection of the null hypothesis. Moreover, there was no significant difference on the management competence of school head and organizational effectiveness when analyzed by school category. This means that regardless of the school category, school heads have high management competence and effectiveness is observed among schools as an organization.Based on the findings, it was further suggested that higher officials in the Department of Education may create programs and trainings that would further enhance the management competence of school heads to ensure organizational effectiveness.Keywords: Management competence, Organizational effectiveness, Descriptive correlational, Davao del Norte City Division, Philippines
