Abstract
Indias burgeoning youth population presents both an opportunity and a challenge in the rapidly evolving global economy. The mismatch between academic education and industry requirements has led to a significant skills gap, hindering employability. This research paper explores the role of skill development initiatives in bridging this gap and enhancing employability in India, impact of skill development on entrepreneurial ventures, skill development leading to employability. By examining existing skill development programs, industry expectations, and government interventions, this study identifies key areas for improvement and proposes strategic recommendations. The findings underscore the need for a collaborative approach involving government, industry, and educational institutions to create a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of the 21st-century job market. The research highlights the potential of skill development to foster economic growth, reduce unemployment, and improve socio-economic outcomes in India.
