Substance use among late adolescents in Tamil Nadu: A survey of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice

Abstract
Adolescent substance use happens most frequently among those between the ages of 17 and 19, and primarily includes first- and second-year college students. Adolescents use drugs for a variety the reasons, and the current study examines those elements to determine the variables that impact and the level of addiction awareness among adolescents enrolled in college. Data regarding the factors that influence college-bound adolescentssubstance usage and their level of awareness of those substances have been presented using quantitative research methodology. To select the sample for data collection, the researcher used non-random Purposive Sampling. Teenagers in Tamil Nadu who are enrolled in college have provided the data. According to a majority of the participants, their usage of substance was motivated primarily curiosity and stress management. Alcohol, cool lip, and tobacco are common drugs among teenagers attending college. Understanding the severity of teen substance use and offering the targeted population suitable treatment options are the goals of the research.
