Abstract
Digital currency has emerged as one of the most disruptive innovations in global finance, redefining how value is created, stored, and transferred. From decentralised cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum to state-issued Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), the financial world is witnessing a paradigm shift that challenges the traditional banking infrastructure. This paper examines the impact of digital currency on global finance by exploring monetary policy implications, international financial systems, financial inclusion, and regulatory challenges. By analysing recent developments and potential outcomes, the study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how digital currencies influence global economic dynamics and the future of financial governance.
