Abstract

Social media has transformed the way individuals communicate, plan, research, and share their travel experiences. The primary objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the influence of social media on the travel and tourism industry. A detailed review of academic research, books, and articles was conducted to explore this subject. The study examines multiple dimensions of social media usage in tourism, including its role in destination marketing, customer engagement, and experience sharing. Findings reveal that social media has become an integral component of the tourism sector, offering significant opportunities for destination promotion and enhancing customer interaction. At the same time, it presents challenges related to privacy concerns, authenticity of information, and reputation management. Overall, the review highlights that social media will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the tourism industry in the future.
