Abstract

Abstract This study uncovered the experiences, coping mechanisms used, and lessons learned from the experiences of school heads in managing a tech-savvy generation of teachers. Qualitative approach to research phenomenological experiences from six (6) school heads from Tagum South District, Division of Tagum City were gathered. Experiences of school heads in managing tech-savvy generation teachers were as follows: undergoing digital transformation, establishing digital infrastructure, and digital equity and availability. While the coping mechanisms on the challenges in managing a tech-savvy generation of teachers were as follows: updating digital infrastructure, formation of professional community, and advocating policy reform. Finally, the lessons learned from the experiences of the school heads were: adapting school leaders to technology, promoting continuous professional development, and fostering a collaborative culture. This study highlighted the essential role of school heads in navigating the challenges presented by a tech-savvy generation of teachers. The findings emphasize the importance of continuous professional development and the establishment of a collaborative culture to effectively manage digital transformation. Ultimately, these insights contribute to a better understanding of how educational leaders can adapt to technological advancements and promote equitable access to digital resources in schools.
