Abstract
Bengaluru, often called Indias "Silicon Valley," has undergone rapid urbanization, leading to severe environmental consequences, including urban flooding. This paper examines the effects of rapid urbanization on drainage infrastructure, water bodies, and flood resilience. Factors such as encroachment on natural drainage systems, inadequate infrastructure, and climate change contribute to the worsening flood crisis. The study analyzes survey responses, GIS-based flood mapping, and secondary data to identify key drivers of urban flooding. Finally, it proposes sustainable urban planning strategies, policy frameworks, and community-driven solutions to improve Bengalurus floodresilience.
