Abstract
Over the past decade, correctional education has increasingly embraced value-based curricula aimed at fostering ethical decision-making, empathy, and social responsibility. This article brings together recent findings on how such programs can lower recidivism rates and support more successful community reintegration. Drawing on diverse studies from North America, Europe, and Asia, it explores the psychological and social pathways through which value education produces durable behavior change. Finally, practical recommendations are offered to help policymakers and practitioners design, implement, and sustain effective value-driven interventions in correctional settings.
