Abstract
This study explores the relationship between workplace spirituality and the professional growth of women academicians in Arts and Science colleges within the Salem district. Workplace spirituality, distinct from religious practices, focuses on the quest for meaning, purpose, and a sense of interconnectedness at work. The study investigates how women academicians perceive workplace spirituality and its impact on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and professional growth. Using a mixed-method approach, the research involved quantitative surveys administered to 275 women academicians and qualitative interviews with 20 participants. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between workplace spirituality and professional growth. Women academicians who found purpose and meaning in their work reported higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment, which facilitated their professional advancement. A sense of community and alignment with organizational values contributed to a supportive and fulfilling work environment. The results align with existing literature, affirming that workplace spirituality enhances job satisfaction, reduces stress, and promotes a better work-life balance. The study underscores the importance of supportive leadership, inclusive policies, and professional development opportunities that resonate with the spiritual values of employees. These elements collectively create a work environment where women academicians feel valued, respected, and connected, leading to higher levels of engagement and professional growth. The study provides insights for policymakers and educational leaders, suggesting that integrating workplace spirituality into institutional policies can significantly enhance the well-being and professional development of women academicians. By fostering a spiritually enriching work environment, higher education institutions can create a more productive, inclusive, and fulfilling academic landscape.
