Abstract
The positional and geometric isomers of octadecatrienoic acid also known as Punicic acid (C18:3) with conjugated double bonds are collectively referred to as conjugated -linolenic acids (CLnAs). Conjugated fatty acids have garnered a lot of attention recently due to reports of their health benefits in a variety of models of metabolic diseases and chronic inflammatory diseases, but some work is controversial and there is still no consensus in the literature regarding their effects on animal and human organisms. This article provides a review of pomegranate seed oil and the potential health effects of conjugated -linolenic acid. Nutraceuticals and plant extracts are the oldest and most popular kind of medicine used by the general public. According to current research, pomegranate components such as ellagitannins, anthocyanins, anthocyanidins, flavonoids, estrogenic flavanols, and flavones are the most medicinally helpful. Additionally, 6483%PUA of pomegranate seed, snake gourd which contains 32-40%PUA and Trichosanthes Kirilowii seeds contains 32-40%PUA. Thus, punicic acid's effects especially those that have been documented, like its anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, antioxidant, and antidiabetic properties were the main focus of this review. Given that nutraceuticals seem to be important for preventing a number of illnesses, punicic acid may significant and phytoconstituent in these substances. Most people agree that using nutraceuticals is safe and has fewer negative effects.
