Abstract
AbstractThe current study aimed to evaluate whether optimistic leadership of school principals mediates the relationship between school environment and teacherscreativity. In this study, the researcher selected the 320 public secondary school teachers in Matanao District 1, Davao del Sur as the respondents of the study. Stratified random sampling technique was utilized in the selection of the respondents. Non-experimental quantitative research design using descriptive-correlational method was employed. The data collected were subjected on the following statistical tools: Mean, Pearson Moment Product Correlation, and path analysis using mediation analysis. Descriptive analysis showed that school environment and teacherscreativity were described as extensive, while, optimistic leadership of school principals was rated as moderately extensive. Further, correlation analysis demonstrated that there is a significant relationship among school environment, teacherscreativity, and optimistic leadership of school principals. Evidently, SEM using mediation analysis proved that optimistic leadership of school principals partially mediates the relationship between school environment and teacherscreativity. In other words, optimistic leadership of school principals is a significant mediator on the school environment and teacherscreativity in Matanao District 1, Davao del Sur.
