Abstract
This paper introduces an innovative approachto automated irrigation by presenting the design andimplementation of an efficient and user-friendly automaticirrigation system using the Arduino Uno microcontroller. Thesystem utilizes a soil moisture sensor to continuously monitorthe moisture level in the soil. Once the moisture level fallsbelow a pre-defined threshold, the sensor triggers the ArduinoUno to activate a water pump, ensuring timely and preciseirrigation for plants or crops. The proposed system offers astraightforward and accessible solution for individuals withlimited experience in electronics, making it feasible for a widerange of users. Its adaptability allows users to tailor thesystem to suit their specific irrigation requirements, providingflexibility and ease of integration with different setups. Thecore functionality of the automatic irrigation system is basedon the synergy between the Arduino Uno and the soil moisturesensor. The Arduino serves as the intelligent control unit, effectively interpreting sensor data and initiating the waterpump when necessary. As a result, this autonomous irrigationsystem optimizes water usage, prevents water wastage, andfacilitates plant growth by maintaining an ideal soil moisturelevel. Overall, this paper's contribution lies in thedemonstration of an accessible, yet highly efficient automatedirrigation system that can benefit both amateur gardeners andagricultural professionals. With the Arduino Uno as itsbackbone, this system promotes sustainable and responsiblewater management, fostering healthy and thriving plantecosystems.
