Abstract
ABSTRACT Hand gesture recognition has become an increasingly popular research topic due to its potential application in various fields such as human-computer interaction and sign language recognition. In this paper, we present a comprehensive review of recent advances in hand gesture recognition using a web camera. We discuss the challenges faced during the making of this approach. We then present various techniques for hand detection that have been proposed in the literature. Finally, we provide an evaluation of the performance of these techniques based on their accuracy, speed, and robustness.
