Abstract

Education is a crucial activity to live a decent and meaningful life, to create a civilized society, and to promote national growth. Each country has its own education policy, which is framed according to the environment and traditions of that particular country. India's educational system will be fairer, more economical, and more responsible according to the "National Education Policy" (NEP) 2020. Also, the learning system will need to change in order to reach the goals of the Viksit Bharat @2047 plan. Viksit Bharat @2047 aims to achieve superpower status by the year 2047 by revolutionizing various sectors, including the economy, healthcare, infrastructure, energy, environment, technology, and the last but most important sector, education, which is the base of any country's well-being and civilization. In our education system commerce discipline plays an important role in the national economy. Manufacturing, service industry, research and development, banking, etc., sectors are impacted by finance, which is the nerve system of the national economy, and studies related to finance dealt in the commerce discipline. As per the changing environment, commerce curricula need to be redesigned to initiate outcome-based learning systems to meet the requirements of industrial job markets and to standardize our education system at the global level. Thus, a more inclusive and flexible education system is needed that focuses on skill building, critical thinking, and creativity, as well as emphasizes the integration of technology, the promotion of multidisciplinary learning, and the nursing of an environment that promotes innovation and research. This research paper aims to focus on the current state of commerce education in India post-NEP 2020 implementation, the challenges and opportunities arising from the implementation of NEP 2020 in commerce education, and to describe the alignment of NEP 2020 with the goals of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.Keywords: Viksit Bharat @2047, NEP 2020, Commerce, superpower, education.
