Abstract
Abstract-One of the worlds concernstoday is the rate of road traffic accidents. The overwhelming majority of theseaccidents occur in low and middle-income countries. Road Traffic Accidentare one of the leading causes of death inIndia.This paper adopted the use of fourmodelling techniques, Randomforest, Decision Tree, Logisitic Regression andXGBoost for short-term road accidentforecasting.The comparison betweenRandom Forest,Decision Tree ,LogisiticRegression,XGBoost showed that theLogistic Regression 87% is better thanthe Random forest 84%, DecisionTree74%, XGBoost 86%.The data used toevaluate the models was obtained fromthe Kaggle. Prediction positivelyinfluences safety enhancements andregulation formulation to prevent futureaccidents.
